Jinshan District announces activities for upcoming Chinese New Year holiday

Suburban Jinshan district announced a slew of activities to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday to attract visitors yestertoday.

Visitors to Langxia Country Park will be able to celebrate Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival from February 5 to 19. And at Langxia Ecological Park in the center of Langxia Country Park, visitors can also experience rural games from February 5 to 10 with an admission fee of 20 yuan ($2.94).

An international sand sculpture exhibition will be held at City Beach from December 28 to April. And a worship ceremony for the God of Fortune will be held on February 9, the fifth day of the first Chinese lunar month.

Opera performances and traditional wedding ceremonies held on water will delight visitors to Fengjing Old Town. In addition, visitors can also join in tasting yellow wine made of rice.

Donglin Temple will be an attraction for Buddhists and visitors. A bell ringing ceremony will be held on the eve of Chinese New Year on February 4. And Jinshanzui Fishing Village will also stage folk music and performances.

Lvxiang Fruit Park has prepared rich activities for families with kids, including paper cutting, cloth weaving, DIY bookmarks and handmade soap, etc.

The Chinese New Year holiday for the Year of Pig is from February 4 to 10.
