Construction on Guiyang North Long-distance Bus Terminal, a transportation junction integrated with Guiyang East Railway Station, was completed on June 30.

Listed as a first-class terminal, Guiyang North Long-distance Bus Terminal had a total investment of 485.77 million yuan ($70.7 million). It covers 64,224 square meters of planned area, 50,453 sq m of land area, 30,963 sq m of floor area and 28,708 sq m of parking area.

The bus terminal is a supporting facility for East Railway Station. It includes a comprehensive building, different areas for waiting and resting, a station square, 256 parking spots, as well as 24 delivery spots.

It is expected that the station will transport 20,000 passengers every day, mainly relieving the heavy traffic in northeast Guiyang and providing convenient transference to high-speed railways and Line 1 and Line 2 of Guiyang Subway.

The terminal will also have a positive effect on transportation to Guiyang's neighboring areas, including Guizhou's cities of Zunyi and Tongren, as well as to Sichuan province and Chongqing Municipality.

Guiyang has put the four long-distance bus terminals of the north, south, west, and east of the city on its working list, of which the north one is the most important as it is of great help for local economic development and the western railway hub.
