The Western Import and Export Commodities Exhibition and Sales Center is expected to be opened in Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou province, next March, according to a promotion conference held Dec 12.

The center is an investment project which was explained by Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce at the 9th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo in September. It was jointly built by Guanshanhu district government and Guiyang Cross Border E-commerce Platform Co Ltd.

Located at Square 5 of Southwest International Trade City in Guanshanhu district, the center will be involved in aspects such as the import of medium and high-end consumer goods, settlement, customs clearance and logistics services. It is not only a comprehensive import trade platform and a cross-border e-commerce platform, but also a center for financial and bonded services.

According to the plan, the center covers about 220,000 square meters. It has five floors consisting of a China pavilion, an import supermarket zone, a discount zone, a Guizhou pavilion and a children's zone. The Guizhou pavilion will exhibit characteristic products for export, including handicrafts, liquor and tea.

The center will feature an online-to-offline business mode. Consumers will be able to buy cross-border commodities online and pick them up at the center's offline store.

"Relying on the big data advantages of Guiyang, we will establish a big data center to build the Western Import and Export Commodities Exhibition and Sales Center as an important platform for opening-up, improving the rapid development of the city's foreign trade," said Li Yuanyuan, general manager of Guiyang Cross Border E-commerce Platform Co Ltd.
