Guiyang discuss environmental protection efforts with Zhejiang

A delegation from Guiyang's bureau of ecology and environment in Southwest China's Guizhou province visited Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province from Dec 18 to 21 to learn about their experiences in environmental protection.

The delegation learned about Shaoxing's application of high technologies in the administrative enforcement of environment protection measures, including online monitoring equipment, early warning systems, drain contamination automatic control systems, and video monitoring of companies' solid waste dumping sites.

Guiyang and Shaoxing officials exchanged their experiences in dealing with problems like complaints concerning restaurants' oil smoke and noises, their cooperation with other government departments, as well as their disposal of sewage sludge.

The delegation was impressed by Shaoxing's efforts in environmental supervision and law enforcement, pledging to use them as references to improve Guiyang's environmental monitoring.
