Southwest China's Guizhou province recently held an investment promotion event in Shanghai to encourage companies in the Yangtze River Delta region to invest in the province.

According to Hu Zhongxiong, vice-governor of Guizhou province, the good air quality rate of Guizhou's 88 cities, counties and districts was 98.3 percent last year, and the forest coverage was nearly 60 percent.

Guizhou's tourism development has shown optimistic trends in recent years based on its abundant historical sites and its ethnic and traditional cultures, said Hu at the event.

In addition to various industrial parks with complete infrastructures, Guizhou's rapid digital economy growth has attracted big data reserve centers of major companies such as Apple, Huawei and Tencent, Hu added.

Hu wishes to build a complete industrial ecosphere and provide more job opportunities for Guizhou people through cooperation with companies in the Yangtze River Delta.

During the event, representatives from Guiyang city, Zunyi city, Bijie city, Tongren city and Pingtang county of Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture introduced key industrial investment projects.

Ma Lei, head of Guizhou Investment Promotion Bureau, said that the event will enhance industrial cooperation between Guizhou and Shanghai. Guizhou strives to provide assistance for project implementation, and a sound business environment for companies.
