Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Southwest China's Guizhou province has issued various supporting policies to keep employment stable, including encouraging people to seek job opportunities outside the province.

By Nov 6, more than 1.6 million impoverished people from Guizhou were employed in other provinces and regions. Many of the recorded impoverished families and relocated low-income families from the province shook off poverty thanks to such employment.

During the novel coronavirus epidemic, Guizhou considered returned migrant workers from other provinces as a priority. It helped them resume work safely by signing memorandums to return to work and labor service agreements.

Guizhou also keeps improving its employment policies to help improvised people to escape poverty through employment. Special work teams for stable employment were established to exchange job data on poor laborers in other provinces and regions.

In addition, Guizhou supports the development of key companies, workshops and the agriculture industry, as well as releases public welfare job positions to make sure at least one person from poverty-stricken families is employed.
