Southwest China's Guizhou province recently issued a notice on novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures for people traveling from abroad and medium-risk and high-risk areas in China. The new rules also apply to people who've had close contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic cases.

These people need to receive 14 days of centralized quarantine and then quarantine at their residence for another 14 days. They need to take five nucleic acid tests: on the first or second day, between the third and seventh day, on the 14th day, 21st day and 28th of quarantine.

Those quarantined at home need to stay in their rooms and avoid contact with any people. Communities should monitor their health condition, provide necessary living materials and prohibit the quarantined people from leaving their residence.

People who quarantine at home should be healthy, live alone and have access to rooms with adequate ventilation and a private bathroom. They should also be provided with personal protective materials such as thermometers, masks, disposable gloves, disinfectants and dustbins with lids.
