With the travel rush for the upcoming Spring Festival now underway, Southwest China's Guizhou province recently adjusted its nucleic acid testing policy.

The latest policy requires a range of individuals to undergo nucleic acid testing: close contacts of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases, migrant workers from overseas, migrant workers from China's medium- and high-risk areas, patients and visitors at fever clinics or inpatient departments, as well as workers at medical institutions, ports, prisons, nursing institutions, cold storage facilities, farmer's markets, supermarkets, designated quarantine hotels, and deliverymen and drivers of public transport vehicles.

Other people can also undergo nucleic acid testing at Guizhou's 265 designated test facilities from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on workdays.

Guizhou residents are reminded to avoid eating two hours before the test and avoid smoking, drinking alcohol or chewing gums 30 minutes before the test. People should also wear face masks and keep a one-meter distance between each other when waiting for the test.

In addition to receiving a paper copy of the test results, people can also acquire the digital nucleic acid test report via e-mail or WeChat applet.
