The opening ceremony of the main venue event of the National Science Popularization Day in Guiyang City and Guian New Area was held at Guiyang College on Sept 21. The event featured exciting activities such as scientific performances and a science popularization knowledge exhibition, attracting over 800 teachers and students.

Under the guidance of the Guizhou Association for Science and Technology, the opening ceremony was organized by the Guiyang Guian All-People Scientific Literacy Work Leading Group. The event aimed to further mobilize a wide range of scientists and individuals from various sectors to actively participate in science popularization.

During the ceremony, officials awarded the titles of "National Science Popularization Demonstration County (City, District)" to Baiyun district and Nanming district, as well as accreditation for the 2023 Guiyang City Science Popularization Education Base. Certificates were also presented to student representatives who had achieved awards at the 18th Soong Ching Ling Youth Invention Competition at the national level.

The science popularization knowledge exhibition, which proved to be a major highlight, attracted many students and teachers. The science popularization exhibition area showcased impressive technological achievements, such as 3D printing and laser engraving. In the robot exhibition area, visitors could watch robot dance performances and mecha battles. The aerospace exhibition area featured military models and aircraft models. In the ecology and environmental protection exhibition area, there was an interactive waste-sorting game that combined education with entertainment.

Each exhibition area was bustling with people, and everyone listened attentively to the explanations provided by science volunteers, as they experienced the charm of technology.
