In Guiyang City and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, the added value by the digital economy accounted for nearly half of GDP, surpassing the national average by 7.7 percentage points.

Seizing the significant opportunities presented by the Opinions of the State Council on Supporting Guizhou in Blazing New Trails in the Development of the Western Region in the New Era issued by the central government, Guiyang and Guian have further enhanced the digitization of industries, governance, and infrastructure, while also unlocking the value of data.

As the optimization of the industrial structure continuously unleashes digital productivity, Guiyang and Guian have not only experienced increased production efficiency and greater profit margins, but also achieved stable and sustainable economic growth.

Data reveals that from January to September this year, the software industry in Guiyang and Guian generated a combined revenue of 56.56 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 16.5 percent.

According to the plan, by 2025, the total output value of the electronic information manufacturing industry and the income of the software and information technology service industry, known as the "two pillar industries" in Guiyang and Guian, should both exceed 100 billion yuan.

In various rankings of the top 100 cities in terms of digital economy, Guiyang has consistently maintained its place within the top 25. The level of resource-driven digital economic development in Guiyang far exceeds its GDP ranking.

As the core areas of both the National Comprehensive Experimental Zone for Big Data (Guizhou) and the Digital Economic Development Innovation Zone, Guiyang and Guian have seized the opportunity of "east computing, west calculating" and strive to become a national base for computing power support.
