Guiyang's international cargo flights flourish

eguiyang.com.cn|Updated: June 20, 2024

As of June 17, the number of international cargo flights from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to Kolkata and Delhi in India this year had exceeded 100, carrying nearly 1,000 metric tons of goods.

Imported goods carried by these cargo flights were valued to $1.46 million, with the main imports being blue crabs. Exports, meanwhile, reached $44.73 million, with major exports including medical accessories, hardware components, and electronic components.

The flights from Guiyang to Kolkata and Delhi, which are scheduled to operate three times per week, provide broader market space and more development opportunities for enterprises in Guizhou and the country's southwestern region, and showcase the complementarity and development potential of trade between Guizhou and South Asian countries.

A new air route from Guiyang to Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, was put into operation in May, further expanding international logistics channels for Guizhou's enterprises.

Moving forward, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone will further expand international cargo routes by opening routes from Guiyang to countries such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Myanmar, supporting the development of foreign trade in Guizhou and the country's western region.
