Vocational school students of Miao ethnicity in Guizhou province have honed their understanding, and marketability, by learning the traditional Miao flower-drum dance, embroidery and other skills.

The students — more than 3,500 from Songtao Miao autonomous county in Tongren, Guizhou — recently showed what they had learned.

In recent years, the county has introduced local ethnic culture, and related business opportunities, into campus classrooms to improve students' ability to make a living while also inheriting and protecting the intangible culture of ethnic minority areas.
