Guizhou Provincial Museum, Guizhou Ethnic Museum and the memorial in commemoration of "crossing the Chishui River four times" – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – were recently evaluated as national first-class museums by Chinese Museums Association.
Guizhou Provincial Museum in the provincial capital of Guiyang has over 80,000 collections featuring ethnic cultural relics, fossils from the Paleolithic Period – also known as the Old Stone Age – as well as relics from that period and various objects reflecting local history and cultural diversity.
The museum also has the most Miao clothing and silverware in China. It has three areas for exhibitions, performances and interactions.

It also studies the traditional culture and history of Guizhou's ethnic groups, offers training on ethnic culture and organizes information exchanges for ethnic culture and art.
Its collections cover the traditional costumes, silverware, masks, daily necessities, literature and ancient books of the ethnic groups. In addition, the museum collects tens of thousands of audios and videos about the politics, economy, culture and folk customs of various ethnic groups in history.
