Guizhou's industrial economy sees steady development

Since the beginning of this year, Southwest China's Guizhou province has focused on promoting new-type industrialization and achieved steady and high-quality industrial economic development.

During the first half of this year, the added value of universities in Guizhou above a designated size increased by 15.2 percent year-on-year, and the business income of industrial enterprises increased by 20.5 percent year-on-year.

So far, Guizhou is home to 2,994 projects with a total planned investment of 765.93 billion yuan ($118.19 billion), and 233.95 billion yuan is planned for investment this year, while 172.77 billion yuan has already been invested.

Among money that has already been invested, industrial investment increased by 19.6 percent year-on-year, which is 3.4 percentage points higher than the national level and 16.2 percentage points higher than Guizhou's fixed-asset investment.

By the end of June, Guizhou's industrial market entities had reached 205,000, which is 13,000 more than the same period last year. The increase is the result of Guizhou's supporting policies for small and medium-sized enterprises and major industrial enterprises.

Guizhou has also issued an evaluation for the green manufacturing system to promote the construction of green mines, green factories, and green industrial parks. It has accelerated the construction of projects for the harmless treatment and utilization of manganese residue and enhanced the utilization of phosphogypsum resources.

Guizhou also continues to guarantee a supply of resources essential for the industrial economy. In the first half of this year, Guizhou traded 31.68 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, an increase of 32.9 percent year-on-year, and reduced electricity costs for enterprises by about 2.1 billion yuan.

Guizhou has launched 19 policies and documents so far, forming a policy system to support a new model industrialization system.
