Guizhou, Hungary hold high-tech conference

The 2021 China (Guizhou)-Hungary Conference for Innovation and Technology Cooperation, and the Smart Hungary Exhibition were held on Sept 28 in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

It was the first time that the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing organized for Hungary's high-tech enterprises to come to Guizhou to seek out science and technology deals.

At the conference, 11 enterprises from Guizhou and Hungary showcased their latest technology innovation achievements and discussed doing business.

Meanwhile, the Smart Hungary Exhibition showcased 22 of Hungary's technologies and products involving the smart city, transportation, leisure, sports, agriculture and medical treatment. The exhibition was opened to the public on Sept 28-30.

The Hungary delegation also visited the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the Guian New Area and Anshun city to scout for business opportunities.

Guizhou hopes to grasp the opportunity and work with Hungary in organic agriculture, the digital economy, medicine and intelligent manufacturing.

Bálint Czégel, deputy head of mission and consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, said that science and technology had already played a key role in China and Hungary's relationship.

Czégel also said that China had taken Hungary as an important partner for innovation, technology and knowledge transfers.

The envoy said he hoped both sides would undertake technology transfer projects involving automobiles, medical treatment, information and communications technology, high technology, the operation and management of hot springs and agricultural technology.

Luo Yu, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, said that Guizhou and Hungary's cooperation had contributed to the bilateral relations of China and Hungary.

The conference and exhibition provided a communication platform for Guizhou and Hungary, allowing both sides to explore future commerce, Luo added.
