A look at performance of national political advisers from Guizhou in 2023

Throughout 2023, the members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from Southwest China's Guizhou province have made their voices heard, showcasing a new image for CPPCC members in the new era.

The CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou have actively participated in the CPPCC's activities, such as consultations, inspections, and research, in order to accelerate high-quality development and modernization in Guizhou.

Zhao Yongqing, the convener of the CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou and the chairman of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee, delivered a speech at the remote consultation meeting of the CPPCC National Committee. Zhao's speech was on "promoting the establishment of an ecological product value realization mechanism".

He proposed suggestions for establishing an ecological product circulation system, strengthening the ecological value transformation system, improving the ecological element allocation system, and perfecting the ecological compensation policy system. These suggestions received on-site responses from relevant national ministries and commissions.

The CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou have closely engaged in extensive exchanges with government departments, responsible enterprise personnel, and grassroots organizations. Based on a clear understanding of the situation, they proposed ideas and solutions, and produced special research reports.

Around the theme of "comprehensively promoting agricultural modernization", the CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou visited Henan province to learn and draw from its successful practices and advanced experience in firmly protecting arable land, ensuring food security, deepening industrial integration, and building beautiful rural areas.

During this year's first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, 25 CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou collectively submitted 93 joint and individual proposals, of which 81 were accepted, yielding an acceptance rate of 87.1 percent.

Being close to the grassroots and addressing practical issues related to people's livelihoods is of utmost importance for the CPPCC members from Guizhou.

CPPCC member Wang Shijie organized a three-year medical assistance campaign and established a team of well-known oncology experts to provide a "green channel" of medical treatment for cancer patients in Bijie City. This initiative has assisted over 1,000 patients with malignant tumors.

This year's second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee is about to be held. The CPPCC National Committee members from Guizhou are full of enthusiasm and determination.
