Guiyang Longdongbao Airport adds flights for Spring Festival travel rush

More than 2.59 million passengers are expected to be transported via Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Guizhou province during the Spring Festival travel rush which started on Jan 10, a year-on-year increase of 4.29 percent, according to Guizhou Airports Group Co.

The airport has opened a route to Beijing Daxing International Airport, and added flights to domestic hotspot cities such as Guangzhou and Zhuhai in Guangdong province, Harbin in Heilongjiang province, and Lijiang in Yunnan province, and resumed the route to Liping in Guizhou province.

In terms of international routes, direct flights from Guiyang to Yangon in Myanmar, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Manado in Indonesia have been opened, and flights to Kalibo in Philippines, and Bali in Indonesia, have been resumed.

During the period, it is estimated that the airport will complete 19,600 flights, a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent, and the cargo and mail throughput of 11,000 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent.

In order to handle the passenger flow in a timely manner and optimize service quality, the airport has increased the number of its dedicated buses. For the 14 long-distance dedicated buses from the airport to cities (prefectures) and counties, the departure times have been advanced from 9 am to 8 am.

The airport has also increased the number of mobile volunteers in the check-in area, provided passenger guidance and inquiry services, and shortened passenger check-in waiting times.
