In an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Xiaba town in Wudang district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently arranged for officials to promote information about the virus and set up screening for new arrivals.

Yanshan village, 10 kilometers away from Xiaba, covers an area of 27.63 square kilometers and is the most remote and extensive village administered by the town.

Wang Chao, secretary of Yanshan’s Party branch has started to promote epidemic prevention, investigating people returning from other areas, and monitoring stocks of medical equipment at the village clinic.

Yanshan has a population of 2,670 people, with all recent arrivals in the village now required to be checked and registered every day. So far, 10 people that have recently returned to the village from Wuhan have been quarantined at home, with nobody showing any symptoms so far.
