To optimize the business environment for private companies, Southwest China's Guizhou province recently issued a plan to support private business reform and development.

According to a third-party evaluation report, Guizhou's business environment achieved a "convenience" score of 72.82 points last year, an increase of 6.03 percentage points compared with 2018.

Guizhou's government work report of this year stressed that the province will further build itself into a business hub with better services and efficiency, and lower costs and burdens.

The online government affair service and "one-window service" represent Guizhou's efforts in increasing efficiency. So far, Guizhou has designated 224 windows – overseen by 305 staff members - to allow residents to go through their formalities anywhere.

Guian New Area and nine other cities and prefectures have connected with the online government affair service system, which was launched in March this year.

Since 2018, Guizhou has aimed to provide investment consulting services by opening a 24-hour hotline on 963555. The hotline collects appeals from individuals and companies, and is expected to promote investment and optimize the business environment.

Statistics show that the hotline collected over 190 tip-offs, exposed 34 cases, investigated and dealt with 46 business environment damage cases, and called 66 officials to account.

As a consequence of Guizhou attaching such importance to its business environment, the province attracted 425 projects, invested in by 420 companies, between January and May this year.

In the future, Guizhou aims to achieve national average level or above in business environment evaluation among cities at or above prefecture level.
