As one of the first national ecological civilization pilot areas in China, Southwest Chin's Guizhou province continues to strive to transform its natural resources into economic benefits by developing the forestry industry and the forest economy.

The development of individual cities within a so-called ecological civilization, is part of the national program to, among other things, vigorously pursue the path of sustainable economic development while protecting the environment.

In the current year, the forestry industry was listed as one of Guizhou's 12 featured agricultural industries, in a move expected to provide a boost for the province's agriculture to achieve rapid development.

Guizhou has also issued support policies to expand the supply chain for the forestry industry, involving planting, processing and sales.

In the meantime, Guizhou has issued provincial and central government level subsidies, supported forest economy related business entities to apply for loans -- and awarded business entities that have improved their brand building and publicity.

Through continued efforts, Guizhou's forestry products had achieved market popularity and influence with strong competitiveness. Guizhou's Chishui city, Yuping county and Zhenfeng county were now renowned as respective centers in the country for bamboo, oil-tea camellia and Chinese-pepper.

Guizhou's forestry product experience center and information platform officially started operating this year. The platform will establish marketing centers in major cities and seven regions in China, which are expected to boost online sales and offline experience to introduce Guizhou's products to more people.

The Guizhou experience center now has hundreds of participating companies and sells over 500 kinds of products.

In the next three years, the province plans to create five key products, cultivate 50 major companies and build new media teams with over 5,000 people, making the center a national first-class forestry product trade center.
