According to the provincial department of science and technology and energy administration on Dec 28, Southwest China's Guizhou province will intelligentize coal mining and digging through the application of robots.

The robots will be used for coal mine inspection, transportation, rescues and hazardous operations. By the end of 2025, the robots will be applied in coal bed digging, and Guizhou's coal mine rescue centers will be equipped with more than 10 rescue robots.

Meanwhile, Guizhou will reduce the number of miners – or realize unmanned digging – at coal mines by around 2025.

Guizhou plans to apply intelligent digging systems at 50 coal mines in the next five years. The system will adopt smart controls and visual remote control technologies to realize coal mining.

In the next two years, Guizhou will use underground coal gasification to generate electricity with combination gas and build power grids with intelligent micro-grid technology, creating an industrial chain of coal mining, power generation and power grid creation.
