Industrial internet makes Guizhou's manufacturing smart

The Guizhou IND Cloud – widely viewed as one of the most important industrial internet platforms built by Southwest China's Guizhou province – has helped the region's industrial enterprises with their digitalization and intellectualization transformation.

Currently, Guizhou IND Cloud has more than 170,000 enterprise and individual users, with more than 10 sub-platforms established or under construction – and it has helped about 3,000 businesses upload their information and products to cloud platforms.

Guizhou Space Appliance Co, a company understood to be leading China's advanced electronics component manufacturing, has introduced online products R&D, manufacturing and management with the help of the online data platform.

After a restructuring to boost its efficiency using the platform, the company retained one third of its employees. It has reportedly improved the execution rate of its output plan by 30 percent and established an online management system to increase the utilization rate of its production equipment by 18 percent.

Guizhou Yaguang Electronics Technology Co, which produces electronics components for vehicles, similarly upgraded its production lines with the help of Guizhou IND Cloud and big data technology.

After the upgrade, the output of the company's production lines reportedly increased by 58 percent per hour, the yield rate increased by 33 percent, the production area was reduced by 46 percent, the employees per shift were reduced by 68 percent and profit jumped 15 percent.

Since the start of the year, Guizhou has seen more than 30 companies approved as demonstration candidates for digital transformation and industrial internet pilot projects.

By the third quarter of this year, Guizhou had 59 pilot projects and 614 demonstration projects for industrial internet integration, with 955 companies receiving a digital network transformation.

By 2025, Guizhou aims to have one million sets of equipment connected to the internet and 50,000 companies using cloud computing services.
