Guizhou maintains steady economic growth in H1

During the first half of this year, Southwest China's Guizhou province, achieved 983.04 billion yuan ($145.66 billion) in GDP, which was a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent calculated at constant prices – 2 percentage points higher than national average – according to a news conference held on July 18.

The added value of primary industry was 109.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent; the added value of secondary industry was 377.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8 percent; and the added value of tertiary industry was 495.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2 percent.

In the same period, Guizhou's revenue in the general public budget was 88.86 billion yuan, including 8.13 billion yuan in domestic value added tax, 15.71 billion yuan in business income tax, 2.58 billion yuan in individual income tax, and 2.58 billion yuan in land income tax.

Guizhou's general public service expenditure during the first half of this year was 23.25 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.4 percent year-on-year; its education expenditure was 51.19 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7 percent year-on-year; and its health expenditure was 26.65 billion yuan, an increase of 10.6 percent year-on-year.
