The 2022 Wine Industry Development Summit was held on Nov 9, during the 11th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo, which is being held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The summit is intended to serve as an efficient communication and exchange platform for the global wine industrial chain and promote technical and trade exchange among major wine-producing areas and wine companies, as well as facilitate discussion of strategies and challenges facing the industry.

At the summit, wine companies, wine importers, wine distributors, e-commerce business owners and marketing experts from across the world talked about new ideas, approaches, culture and the future of the wine industry.

Xu Xiaohu, vice-chairman of China Chamber of Commerce of I/E of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-products, is confident in the future of the wine industry, and said he hopes all attendees will strengthen cooperation and promote the upgrading of the wine industry.

Xu Shiguang, vice-chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guizhou, said that Guizhou's baijiu industry had been developing rapidly since 2021. In the future, the expo will become more open and welcome wine companies from across the country to invest in China.

Gergely Kádár, consul general of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, believes that international wine enterprises such as those from Hungary will find good development opportunities in the Chinese market.
