Pingtang Bridge in Pingtang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently won the Award for Infrastructure at the Outstanding Structure Award ceremony held by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) in Zurich on Nov 17.

The IABSE was established in 1929 and comprises more than 3,000 members from about 100 countries and regions, giving it more members than any other international structural engineer association.

This is the third time that Pingtang Bridge has won an international award after it won the Gustav Lindenthal Medal at the 38th International Bridge Conference and the MA Excellence Award of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers in 2021.

Pingtang Bridge crosses the Caodu River and has the world's tallest concrete bridge tower. It started construction in April 2016 and opened to traffic in December 2019.
