As March 8 marks International Women's Day, China Daily talks to seven women from different walks of life to listen to how they made their dream a reality and where their happiness comes from.
Li Li, an entrepreneur and deputy to the National People's Congress, is from Qinglong county in Southwest China's Guizhou province, where the majority of people belong to the Bouyei ethnic group. Li has dreamed of having her own Bouyei costume since she was a child.
After Li learned to make clothes, she started her own business in 2015 and provided job opportunities to more than 100 local women. Li hopes to help more women find employment and increase their incomes, fulfill their dreams, and live more independently and happily.
