A railway with a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour that runs through rolling mountains and connects Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to Chongqing municipality has created a "2-hour traffic circle" between the two cities.

As the first north-south express railway in Southwest China, the 345-km Chongqing-Guiyang Railway has greatly shortened the travel time between the two cities from 10 hours to just 2 hours.

The railway passes through eight stations in Guizhou and there are rich tourism resources along the route, which draw crowds of visitors from Chongqing during holidays.
