Guizhou-ASEAN youth cultural exchange activities kick off

The "Bridge to See" Guizhou-ASEAN Youth Cultural Exchange Activities kicked off in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 21. They are part of the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, which is currently underway in Guizhou.

More than 200 guests, teachers and students from universities and colleges in China, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei attended the launch ceremony.

"In international exchanges and cooperation, Guizhou has always adhered to a philosophy of openness and inclusiveness, promoting educational exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries and striving to build a comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging educational cooperation framework," said Chen Xiaofei, secretary-general of the Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange.

Chen believes that the activities will allow ASEAN youth to witness the rapid development of Guizhou, experience the beautiful mountains and rivers, and immerse themselves in the province's colorful culture.

The activities aim to help international teachers and students deepen their understanding of Guizhou through Guizhou's world-class bridges. By enhancing mutual understanding, the activities seek to promote deep cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN in talent cultivation, scientific research, and cultural exchanges, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of the education sector.

Over the next few days, youth from ASEAN countries will not only participate in activities related to the education cooperation week, but also visit Guizhou's renowned universities and vocational colleges to engage in interactive exchanges and experience the splendid ethnic culture and natural scenery of Guizhou.
