The 2024 Transportation and Tourism Integration Development Conference opened on Nov 4 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
During the conference, the "transportation and tourism data of the survey on better life" revealed that satisfaction with transportation has reached its highest level in five years, with Guizhou ranking in the top five. Besides Guangdong and Hainan provinces, Guizhou ranks third in tourism popularity.
The conference aimed to provide a platform for discussions on the integrated development of transportation and tourism, facilitating mutual complementarity and development in these two areas.
The conference will feature three sub-forums and bring together over 500 guests to discuss integrated transportation and tourism development opportunities. They will explore trends and innovative paths for high-quality development and exchange insights on new challenges, ideas, and solutions.
Guizhou has constructed over 9,000 kilometers of expressways, and 75 percent of townships can access the expressways within 30 minutes.
The province's high-speed railway network spans over 1,800 km and is soon to achieve connectivity between all cities. The Wujiang River, closed for 20 years, has reopened entirely, contributing to the rapid construction of a major water transport route connecting the Yangtze River and the Pearl River.
Guizhou has also established 11 civil airports, making it one of the two provinces in China with an airport in every city.
