The city of Liupanshui in Southwest China's Guizhou province exported its first batch of rosa roxburghii fruit juice to France on Sept 13.

Rosa roxburghii is a plant whose juice has been used as a Chinese medicinal remedy for a variety of diseases.

The 5 metric tons of rosa roxburghii fruit juice juice was trucked to the city of Chengdu in Sichuan province, from where it was sent on to France on the China Railway Express -- a freight railway line linking China with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

It was the first time that that the juice produced in Guizhou had been exported to France on a large scale. Before that, 200 kilograms of raw rosa roxburghii juice were sent to a lab in France to be tested.

The train is expected to arrive in France's Lyon in 20 days. The transport marks the start of Guizhou's rosa roxburghii products being exported to Europe -- and also Guizhou's attempt at increasing Sino-French commerce, as well as agricultural innovation with BRI countries.

When it arrives in France, the juice will be analyzed at labs related to health care products and and the cosmetics industry and applied in nutritional supplements, health foods and cosmetics after being refined and studied.

To ensure the successful export of the juice, the local government provided assistance in terms of preferential policies, customs clearances and customs transits.

In addition to the plant quarantine certification and sanitary certificate, Liupanshui customs issued its first certificate of origin for the juice, which is a certificated required by importers that can help the exports save 13 percent in tax.
