Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, established its first municipal rescue team with Blue Sky Rescue on Jan 6.

Blue Sky Rescue is a privately owned non-profit organization established in 2008. It has more than 1,000 volunteers and is the only comprehensive rescue team in Guizhou capable of high-altitude, cave, earthquake, underwater and biochemical rescues and has aviation capacities.

When established, Guiyang's municipal rescue team will protect citizens' lives and property and carry out emergency rescues when natural disasters or accidents happen in the city.
