Kweichow Moutai Group

The Kweichow Moutai Group (贵州茅台集团) is a State-owned company whose headquarters is located in Maotai town, Zunyi, in Southwest China's Guizhou province. The headquarters covers an area of 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) and these days the company has more than 36,000 employees.

The group's diversified business involves baijiu, health care wine, wine, finance, cultural tourism, education, hotels, real estate and industries connected to baijiu. Its main product – Kweichow Moutai baijiu – won the golden prize at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and it is known as one of the world's top three liquors, along with French Cognac and Scotch whisky.

Kweichow Moutai baijiu is recognized as an organic beverage and is one of China's geographical indication products, while the baijiu brewing technique has officially been selected as one of the country's intangible cultural heritage items.

Since 2013, Kweichow Moutai has entered the Kantar BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list a total of five times. It has been ranked first in the world's top 50 most valuable spirit brands selected by Brand Finance three times – and it has also topped the Huazun Cup's top 200 alcoholic beverage enterprises.
