Guizhou speeds up sturgeon exports

Guizhou Lida Special Aquaculture Co in Pingtang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently exported 14 metric tons of artificially bred Siberian sturgeons to Vietnam.

It was the first batch of Siberian sturgeons the company exported since it established a breeding base in Pingtang. The sturgeons arrived in Vietnam in just eight hours.

The Siberian sturgeon is one of the main varieties of sturgeon and is related to the famous Chinese sturgeon. Artificially-bred Siberian sturgeons grow fast, are large in size, and have high-quality meat.

Guizhou's high altitude, rich water resources, low water temperature and good water quality make the province suitable for sturgeon breeding.

So far, Guizhou Lida Special Aquaculture Co has signed a supply agreement of 200,000 kilograms of Siberian sturgeons with two Vietnamese companies.

With the foreign trade service provided by Guizhou Commercial Storage-Transportation Group Corp, the company successfully applied for animal health certificates and certificates of origin online to acquire export qualifications.

Guizhou Lida Special Aquaculture Co's export of sturgeons has laid a solid foundation for exporting more Guizhou agricultural products to the world. Guizhou Commercial Storage-Transportation Group Corp has so far helped export 800 tons of sturgeons.

Meanwhile, Kaili customs has also visited Guizhou Lida Special Aquaculture Co's cold water fish breeding bases to help the company improve its quality management system, adjust its breeding base layout, and standardize the use of feed and medicine.

To ensure its product quality meets the national standards of export destinations, Kaili customs helps with self-inspection and quality control procedures and carries out an epidemic prevention system so as to maintain a reputation for excellent quality.
