A China-Europe freight train loaded with 50 standard containers departed from the Guiyang Dulaying International Land-Sea Logistics Port, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 18, heading to Hungary's Budapest.

Some of the containers were transferred from Vietnam to Guiyang through the China-Laos Railway, and will continue via the China-Europe freight train to Europe. The train is expected to arrive in Budapest in half a month.

The trip serves as a trial for connecting the China-Laos Railway with China-Europe freight trains. It will also help Guizhou expand its international market, enhance its transportation capabilities, and become an international transportation hub.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, flights to Southeast Asia are in short supply, the cost of sea transportation is fluctuating, and the booking of sea transportation is difficult, making China-Europe freight trains popular.

In recent years, Guizhou has been promoting the development of an open economy by upgrading the construction of a national inland open economy pilot area and enhancing opening-up.

In the future, Guizhou will work toward the stable operation of China-Europe freight trains and freight trains of the China-Laos Railway and enhance the connections to international freight railways.
