Guizhou signs big at China Import and Export Fair

The 133rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, recently closed in Guangzhou, located in the southern province of Guangdong, with noteworthy achievements for the delegation from Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The Guizhou delegation had 115 companies with 149 booths at the on-site exhibition. It secured orders amounting to $50.73 million, with $23.52 million in actual deals and $27.21 million in intention agreements.

The Guizhou delegation presented its core industries and products, including building materials, hardware, chemicals, home appliances, household goods, food, luggage, and rural vitalization.

Furthermore, the Guizhou delegation hosted the Guizhou foreign trade promotion and investment conference during the fair, attracting over 100 domestic and foreign business institutions and enterprise representatives, including the foreign trade office of the Ministry of Commerce, China Foreign Trade Center, Malaysia China International Tradelink Association, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia.

Ma Lei, director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, highlighted that policy opportunities, transportation hubs, and international platforms are the driving forces behind Guizhou's foreign trade development.

Additionally, he expressed his hope for more traders to take advantage of Guizhou's big data opportunities, for more companies to establish their businesses in Guizhou, and for cross-border e-commerce enterprises to promote Guizhou's rural vitalization.

In 2022, Guizhou's trade volume reached 80.12 billion yuan ($11.59 billion), a year-on-year increase of 22.5 percent.

By strengthening trade and investment cooperation with domestic and foreign customers, Guizhou aims to deepen the connection between high-quality market entities and its own advantageous resources.
